Autopilot Overview & Assigning Autopilot to Clients

Autopilot Overview Up Next: Configuring Your Autopilot

What is Autopilot?

Autopilot automates elements of your client’s mental‑health care plan by assigning activities, generating improvement plans, evaluating changes, communicating with your client, and more - all informed by both in-app data about your client and the guidance you specify.
It combines your selected AI therapist preset, assignment categories, desired outcomes, and monitoring settings into a single preset that can be assigned to any client.
Once enabled, Autopilot runs on a schedule you define (for example every 14 days) to review the client’s history, create or update an improvement plan and assignments, and log its decisions for your review.

Why Use Autopilot?

Provide consistent, evidence‑based support between sessions and ensure clients always have structured activities to work on.
Tailor the automated guidance to your therapeutic approach so that the AI’s tone, pace and recommendations align with your treatment philosophy.
Save time by allowing AI to handle routine care tasks, while still retaining control through approval options.

Assigning Autopilot to Clients

Open the Assign & Enable Autopilot page from your dashboard to view a list of your clients.
Use the search bar to quickly filter by client name.
For each client you want to automate, select an Autopilot preset from the dropdown. Presets bundle the AI therapist, assignments, desired outcomes and monitoring preferences (see the next article for details).
Specify a frequency in days. This controls how often the Autopilot will review the client’s data and generate new plans and tasks. A lower number means more frequent updates.
Check the Enable box to activate Autopilot for that client. Leave it unchecked if you wish to save the preset and frequency without turning it on yet.
Click the Save button at the end of the row. A small status message will confirm that the settings were stored.
Changes are applied per client. You can assign different presets and frequencies to different clients based on their needs.

Adding Client‑Specific Context

The Patient Context button opens a dialog where you can record notes about the client (e.g., recent life events or clinical considerations).
Autopilot includes this context in its prompt when generating improvement plans and assignments, ensuring its recommendations remain personalized.
Keep these notes concise and up to date so that the AI always has the latest context.

Reviewing Autopilot Activity

Each Autopilot run is recorded. You can access a client’s logs to see the AI’s actions, reasoning and status for each job.
Logs provide transparency and allow you to audit and adjust your Autopilot settings as needed. For details on the logs interface see the final article in this series.
