Integrating Habit Building into Your Improvement Plan

Habit Building Up Next: Self‑Administered EMDR

What Is Habit Building?

Habit Building helps clients establish healthy routines by breaking goals into small, achievable daily tasks. Categories range from hygiene and daily living to social skills, self‑care and productivity. Examples include brushing teeth, making the bed, practicing gratitude or reaching out to a friend.
Clients choose habits that align with their therapeutic goals and current capacity. The tool guides them through gradual progression, reinforcing new behaviors until they become automatic.
Our points & rewards system motivates consistent practice by awarding points for every completed task and unlocking fun incentives.

Try the Habit Building Tool Yourself

Open the Habit Of Care app, sign in with your Care Management credentials and select Habit Building from the dashboard.
Explore the categories and sample tasks to see how the tool structures small daily actions into consistent routines.

In your activity library select Habit Building and choose specific habits that match your client’s goals—for example, starting the day with a mindfulness practice or maintaining personal hygiene routines.
Tailor the habit categories to your client’s readiness. Start small and gradually increase complexity as the client demonstrates consistency.
Completed tasks are automatically tracked in the app, allowing both you and your client to monitor progress and celebrate streaks.
